build sustainable livelihoods and transform rural communities
in poor, environmentally vulnerable places.
This year Root Capital is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. Since our launch, we have provided more than $150 million in credit to 255 small and growing businesses in 30 countries, maintaining a 99% repayment rate from our borrowers and a 100% repayment rate to our investors.

"In 2005, we were selling one kilogram of coffee for 1000 shillings. After acquiring the coffee washing station, we now earn 1900 shillings. Also, our kids no longer have to help us with work, so they have time to sit down and study for school."
